Redstone and Nedde Real Estate break ground on $34 million project

Burlington, VT - 2013-07-05

Larry Williams and Erik Hoekstra of Redstone and Doug Nedde of Nedde Real Estate, started construction on a 139-room Hilton Garden Inn on the corner of Main and Pine Sts., blocks from the Church Street Marketplace in downtown. The $34 million development will accentuate the historic armory building, while melding the modern appeal of the Hilton Garden Inn. There is also 5,000 s/f of retail space for lease in the armory building

Hilton Garden Inn is one of the world's leading hotel brands and is aimed at business travelers, but also ideal for the leisure guest.

Karen Whitman, vice president of development said, "Downtown Burlington near Church St., is a perfect location to help launch the exciting new Hilton Garden Inn design."

Larry Williams said, "Redstone has been investing in the community for many years and we believe that this project is a major addition to the ongoing revitalization of Burlington."

Less than a mile from University of Vermont, this downtown hotel will feature meeting rooms, a fitness room, valet parking and an indoor pool. Many rooms will offer views of Lake Champlain. The Great American Grill will serve breakfast & dinner and feature a lounge in the Armory.

Burlington-based Redstone has been a leader in full-service commercial real estate in Vermont since 1992. Nedde Real Estate is a new Vermont-based company founded by commercial real estate veteran, Doug Nedde. Freeport, Maine-based Maine Course Hospitality Group, owns and operates hotels throughout New England including Hilton and Marriott brands.
